एक बार एक क्राइम रिपोर्टर अपनी गाड़ी से कहीं जा रहा होता है, लेकिन अचानक उसकी गाड़ी के सामने एक आदमी बेसुध हालत में आकर गिर जाता है| तभी क्राइम रिपोर्टर अचानक अपनी गाड़ी का ब्रेक लगा लेता है, लेकिन वह बहुत घबरा जाता है| उसे समझ नहीं आता कि, इतने सुनसान रास्ते में ये आदमी कहाँ से आया| तभी वह हिम्मत करके गाड़ी से बाहर निकलता है, और उस आदमी को उठाता है तभी वह घबराते हुए रिपोर्टर से बताता है कि कोई उसे जान से मारना चाहता है इसलिए वह अपनी जान बचाकर भाग रहा था, लेकिन रिपोर्टर को उसकी बात पर भरोसा नहीं होता| फिर भी रिपोर्टर उसे अपनी गाड़ी में बैठाकर हॉस्पिटल के लिए जाने को कहता है| लेकिन वह आदमी पहले पुलिस स्टेशन जाने की बात कहता है| अब रिपोर्टर को थोड़ा उस पर भरोसा होने लगता है लेकिन, अब रिपोर्टर कि दिल में यह ख्याल आ जाता है कि, क्यों ना यह केस वह सुलझा दे, और बाद में पुलिस को इन्फॉर्म करें और यही रिपोर्टर की सबसे बड़ी गलती होती है जोकि, एक नए अध्याय की शुरूआत करती है|
अब तक रिपोर्टर को उस इंसान पर पूरा भरोसा हो चुका होता है और वह उसकी बातों में आ जाता है| वह इंसान एक हॉस्पिटल का नाम बताता है और कहता है| वहाँ के एक डॉक्टर को वह जानता है, और उसके पास जाने की ज़िद करता है| तभी रिपोर्टर उसकी बात मानकर उसे वहाँ ले जाता है| हॉस्पिटल पहुंचकर उन्हें पता चलता है कि डॉक्टर तो आज छुट्टी पर है, और वह अपने घर में ही होंगे| तभी वह इंसान रिपोर्टर कहता है कि, डॉक्टर से घर जाकर मिलते हैं| रिपोर्टर के मना करने के बावजूद भी वह उसे चलने को मना लेता है|
तभी दोनों डॉक्टर के घर के लिए निकल पड़ते हैं, और जैसे ही घर पहुँचते हैं, तो यह डॉक्टर रिपोर्टर की पहचान का होता है| ये दोनों एक दूसरे को देख कर के मुस्कुराते हैं| लेकिन साथ आए हुए इंसान की आंखें लाल हो जाती है| उसके अंदर अजीब सा ग़ुस्सा दिखाई देता है| डॉक्टर रिपोर्टर को घर के अंदर बुलाते हैं| डॉक्टर घर में अकेले ही होते हैं, और इतनी रात को अचानक इनके आने से डॉक्टर को कुछ अजीब लगता है, फिर भी वह रिपोर्टर से पहले से परिचित होने की वजह से दिमाग़ पर ज़्यादा ज़ोर नहीं देते हैं| तभी रिपोर्टर डॉक्टर को सारी घटना बताते हैं, लेकिन डॉक्टर को फिर भी यह बात समझ नहीं आती कि यह आदमी उन्हें कैसे जानता है जो रिपोर्टर के साथ आया है| तभी वह इंसान डॉक्टर के बारे में कुछ पुरानी बातें बताता है, जिसकी वजह से डॉक्टर को भी यक़ीन हो जाता है कि वह इंसान सच बोल रहा है| शायद डॉक्टर ही उसे भूल गए होंगे अचानक डॉक्टर उठकर कहते हैं, रुकिए मैं आप लोगों के लिए चाय ले आता हूँ| तभी वह आदमी कहता है, आप रहने दीजिए मैं चाय बना देता हूँ| आप मुझे अपने किचन का रास्ता बता दीजिए, लेकिन डॉक्टर को या अनुचित लगता है, तो वह उसे मना करते हैं लेकिन वह इंसान काफ़ी ज़िद करने लगता है, तो डॉक्टर को मजबूरी में उसे किचन तक ले जाना पड़ता है, और डॉक्टर उसे चाय का सामान देते हैं और बाहर चले जाते हैं|
तभी वह आदमी गैस का रेगुलेटर ऑन करके किचन की सारी खिड़कियां बंद कर देता है और थोड़ी देर बाद डॉक्टर को आवाज़ देता है कि, आपका लाइटर नहीं चल रहा डॉक्टर जैसे ही किचन में आते हैं, तो उन्हें गैस की बदबू आती है, लेकिन वह सामान्य बात समझ कर उस इंसान से लाइटर लेते हैं, और जैसे ही वह लाइटर जलाते हैं| वह आदमी बाहर भाग जाता है और अचानक गैस की आग डॉक्टर को चपेट में ले लेती है| अचानक हुई ऐसी घटना से रिपोर्टर को कुछ समझ नहीं आता और वह रिपोर्टर उस आदमी के साथ घर के बाहर भागता है, रिपोर्टर यह घटना देखकर जल्दी से पुलिस को इन्फॉर्म करता है और साथ ही साथ फ़ायर ब्रिगेड को भी बुलाता है लेकिन तब तक बहुत देर हो चुकी होती है| घटना स्थल पर पुलिस के आने के बाद रिपोर्टर उस आदमी के साथ वहाँ से निकल जाता है, और गाड़ी की स्पीड तेज करते हुए कहीं अकेले स्थान में जाना चाहता है| दरअसल यह सब देख करके उसका दिमाग़ घूम चुका था| उसे कुछ समझ नहीं आ रहा था, कि यह सब क्या चल रहा है तभी अचानक बग़ल में बैठा हुआ आदमी उसकी गाड़ी का स्टीयरिंग व्हील घूमा देता है, और गाड़ी रोड के किनारे एक खाई में चली जाती है|
गाड़ी का इतना ज़बरदस्त एक्सीडेंट होने के बाद दोनों की हालत बहुत बुरी हो जाती है| दोनों खून से लतपत दिखाई देते हैं| रिपोर्टर मूर्छित अवस्था मैं होकर उस इंसान से पूछता है तुमने ऐसा क्यों किया तभी वह इंसान ज़ोर ज़ोर से हँसने लगता है| और रिपोर्टर से कहता है “मेरा सोनू सो गया” रिपोर्टर यह सुनकर चकित रह जाता है, क्योंकि इस नाम से तो उसे उसकी प्रेमिका बुलाती थी, जो कुछ सालों पहले गुज़र चुकी थी| जिसकी वजह यह रिपोर्टर ही था| जिसने उसे अपने प्यार के जाल में फंसाकर उसे गर्भवती कर दिया था, और जब बाद में लड़की ने शादी करने के लिए कहा है, तो वह मना करने लगा| लेकिन लड़की की ज़िद करने के बाद वह शादी के लिए मान गया| लेकिन लड़की को क्या पता कि यह तो केवल उसका दिखावा था और रिपोर्टर की मौत से ये कहानी ख़त्म हो जाती है|

Revenge of the soul
A crime reporter was driving somewhere when suddenly a man collapsed unconscious in front of his car. The reporter slammed on the brakes, but he was very frightened. He couldn't understand where this man had come from on such a deserted road. He cautiously got out of the car and helped the man up. The man, trembling, told the reporter that someone was trying to kill him and he was running for his life. The reporter didn't believe him at first. Nevertheless, he offered to take him to the hospital in his car. But the man insisted on going to the police station first. Now the reporter started to trust him a little, but then the thought crossed his mind: why not solve this case himself and inform the police later? This was the reporter's biggest mistake, which marked the beginning of a new chapter.
By now, the reporter completely trusted the man and was swayed by his words. The man mentioned a hospital and said he knew a doctor there, insisting on going to see him. The reporter agreed and took him there. Upon reaching the hospital, they found out that the doctor was on leave and would be at home. The man then suggested going to the doctor's house. Despite the reporter's reluctance, the man convinced him to go.
They both set off for the doctor's house, and as soon as they arrived, the reporter recognized the doctor. They smiled at each other, but the eyes of the man accompanying the reporter turned red. A strange anger was visible in him. The doctor invited the reporter inside. The doctor was alone at home, and their sudden arrival so late at night seemed strange to him, but since he knew the reporter, he didn't think too much of it. The reporter then tells the doctor the whole story, but the doctor still can't understand how the man who came with the reporter knows him. The man then reveals some old details about the doctor, which convinces the doctor that the man is telling the truth. Perhaps the doctor had simply forgotten him. Suddenly, the doctor gets up and says, "Wait, I'll get you some tea." The man replies, "No, you stay put, I'll make the tea. Just show me the way to your kitchen." The doctor finds this inappropriate and refuses, but the man insists, so the doctor reluctantly takes him to the kitchen, gives him the tea supplies, and leaves.
The man then turns on the gas regulator and closes all the kitchen windows. After a while, he calls out to the doctor, "Your lighter isn't working." As soon as the doctor enters the kitchen, he smells gas, but thinking nothing of it, he takes the lighter from the man. As soon as he lights it, the man runs outside, and suddenly the gas ignites, engulfing the doctor in flames. The reporter is stunned by this sudden event and runs out of the house with the man. Seeing the incident, the reporter quickly informs the police and calls the fire brigade, but it's already too late. After the police arrive at the scene, the reporter leaves with the man, speeding away in his car, wanting to go to a secluded place. His mind was reeling from everything that had happened; he couldn't understand what was going on. Suddenly, the man sitting next to him grabs the steering wheel and swerves the car into a ditch by the side of the road.
After the violent car accident, both of them are in a terrible state. They are covered in blood. The reporter, in a dazed state, asks the man, "Why did you do this?" The man then bursts into loud laughter and says to the reporter, "My Sonu has fallen asleep." The reporter is stunned to hear this, because that was the name his girlfriend used to call him, the one who had passed away a few years earlier. The reporter himself was responsible for her death. He had trapped her in his web of love, gotten her pregnant, and when she later asked him to marry her, he refused. But after much insistence from the girl, he finally agreed to the marriage. Little did the girl know that it was all just a pretense. And the story ends with the reporter's death.
